The Bob Purple Heart fighter

Gregory Coker named this knife after his good friend MSG Robert “Bob” Horrigan, he was KIA in Iraq on 17 Jun 05 while conducting combat operations in western Iraq. Bob was one heck of a great bladesmith, and Gregory is honored to have his twin brother, John, help me with this mission, he still think Bob taught John.

The OAL of the knife is 10 inches with a hand ground saber cut 5-inch blade. Gregory made the scales, or handles, out of Purple Heart wood and embedded two of his Purple Heart medals in each scale. He cut the thumb serrations on the top of the blade with a checkering file. The pins he used in all his knives represent the Dillon Aero M-134 mini guns that he carried on each side of his AH-6 little bird.
